Futility
The heart has hardened,
The mind numbfucked;
The body's tired,
And the will faltered.
Sadness laugh,
Thy presence had prevailed;
Despite futile trysts,
Thy essence realised.
Fate is an untrue consolation,
An euphemism for betrayal;
Character be damned,
Thy use is outdated.
Laugh you may at this young love,
Its too much of a habit already,
Thou shall rise again,
Say the soothsayers
But time has revealed the truth,
Farthest you may go,
Happy endings exist for literature,
For the end of the road is now.
So sleep my soul,
The time to rest is here.
Let thy wounds not heal,
For fear that they may scar,
Memories of everlasting bliss,
Privilege of the smart.
The mind numbfucked;
The body's tired,
And the will faltered.
Sadness laugh,
Thy presence had prevailed;
Despite futile trysts,
Thy essence realised.
Fate is an untrue consolation,
An euphemism for betrayal;
Character be damned,
Thy use is outdated.
Laugh you may at this young love,
Its too much of a habit already,
Thou shall rise again,
Say the soothsayers
But time has revealed the truth,
Farthest you may go,
Happy endings exist for literature,
For the end of the road is now.
So sleep my soul,
The time to rest is here.
Let thy wounds not heal,
For fear that they may scar,
Memories of everlasting bliss,
Privilege of the smart.
